Abstract
eHealth and Developing Countries (2): Many African countries feature a lack of specialized doctors, especially in rural
areas. Due to unsatisfactory transport systems and poor telecommunications,
doctors in rural areas are often denied the possibilities of sustaining dialogue
with their colleagues in specialized hospitals and end up working in
professional isolation. Essential and up-to-date information for the tasks of
management and efficient planning and implementation of measures in the
public health sector are often lacking. The Muhimbili Health Exchange Forum
(MuHEF) is an initiative to facilitate communication and the flow of health
information between healthworkers in the districts and regions of Tanzania
and Ministry of Health, Health experts and postgraduate students of
Muhimbili.
