Abstract
The Digest is arranged by subject matter, starting with general industry data (venues, games, charitable gaming licences), followed by revenues; revenue distributions; gambling participation; problem gambling prevalence; problem gambling assistance; and on-site information and support at gaming venues. Data in each section are presented in tables and figures. Accompanying text describes the data and highlights some of its more salient features. While considerable effort is made to ensure that the data in a given table or figure are comparable across provinces, this is not always possible due to differences in record keeping and other factors. Unless stated otherwise, all data pertain to fiscal 2012-13 (April 1st, 2012 to March 31st, 2013). Revenues have been rounded off to the nearest thousand. After the quantitative component of the Digest described above, there is a section entitled, Organization and Management of Gambling in Canada. The section provides an overview of the operation, regulation and management of gambling in each province, and is designed to
give readers a more encompassing look at the similarities and differences in how gambling is run across the country.
