Abstract: Although serial verb constructions (SVCs) in Chinese have been the subject of a number of studies. serial verb constructions proper (SVCPs) have rarely been investigated by Chinese linguists. It is these Chinese SVCPs which have the sequence of NP V NP V (NP), that is the concern of this thesis.
