This report presents the results of the first follow-up survey of gambling and problem gambling in the United States. A large sample of South Dakota residents aged 18 and over (N=1,767) were interviewed about the types of gambling they have tried, the amounts of money they spend on gambling, and about problematic gambling-related behaviors. The information in this report will be useful in planning for the availability of future gaming opportunities and in the appropriate design of services for problem and pathological gamblers in South Dakota.en
