This volume describes the pattern of gambling in the United States and sets forth some contrasting points of view. It points out the desirability of selecting a more consistent national or community policy than has been in operation in the past. The first three sections deal with the many forms of gambling practiced in the 1950's. The fourth section examines speculation in commodities and securities as a form of gambling. Next, the question of the legalization of gambling is discussed, and finally the reader is presented with a variety of views expressing moral and ethical attitudes towards the gambling problem.en
