dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this discussion paper is to: 1) provide an overview description of gaming regulations across the country and to review recent trends in both gaming and provincial control; 2) indicate the social and economic importance of gaming to Indian communities; 3) analyze the central issue of jurisdiction over gaming on reserves, and; 4) identify possible options for resolving Indian concerns. This paper does not recommend any particular course of action. It undertakes to provide the necessary information and analysis on which to base any follow-up policy decisions. | en |
