dc.description.abstractThe following report presents the results of a survey regarding the nature and extent of gambling and gambling problems in Ontario. The survey was conducted in the spring of 2001 by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse and the Responsible Gambling Council (Ontario) under a grant from the Ontario Problem Gambling Research Centre. The study is intended to determine the prevalence of gambling and problem gambling among Ontario adults, to describe the characteristics of individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, to describe the relationship between problem gambling and substance abuse, and to discuss the implications of the findings to treatment and prevention programming.eng
