Abstract
A novel spandrel cladding panel design using Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) with Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) reinforcing bars are load tested and compared to analytical calculations and the results of an elastic finite element analysis. Five panels are load tested, three subjected to static load testing, and two subjected to fatigue load testing. The deflection of the panels under serviceability wind pressure load testing agreed well with the calculated values, in most cases deflecting less than the design limit. The failure strength of the panels was shown to be as much as four times higher than calculated. Results of the fatigue testing concluded that the panels were unaffected by cyclic loading at the simulated wind loading levels.
