Memento
Abstract
The human experience is one of flux. We are constantly changing and moving through space, being altered from moment to moment. Everyone experiences transitionary stages in life, however it's the bigger shifts in life when we notice change is taking place. Recognizing that I have moved forward from my adolescence into adulthood I use the act of making art objects as a way to evaluate my situation and further understand this transition. I believe that through the imagery, text and installation of the artwork I produce, I not only am able to understand this act of becoming, but I also create an environment for the viewer to be affected and reflect on their own life transitions.
