Abstract
Space-Based Technology Applications to eHealth: Following a general introduction to the present space technology particular
capabilities, the presentation will focus on the Romanian Space Programme in
the space telemedicine specific development. The applications of global
satellite positioning were used together with space communications and with
a background map obtained by a high-resolution remote sensing satellite. In
the present stage, the telemedicine process is to be developed by reorganizing
the data management and processing on a network basis by
means of GRID procedures. Conclusions and recommendations are given at
the end of the paper.
