Abstract
The following thesis will examine the impact that the Conservative Party of Canada's direct voter contact (DVC) program had on the 2004 and 2006 federal elections. The dependent variables that will be tested are Conservative win/loss, Conservative vote share, Conservative margin of victory/loss, and voter turnout. The two major independent variables used are program participation (dichotomous variable) and Conservative voter penetration (continuous variable). Several statistical controls were also applied in a series of multiple regression analyses. The study revealed that the independent variables influenced each of the dependent variables positively from the perspective of the Conservative Party in both elections.
