Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to orient an audience within the contexts of Heidegger's later thinking by looking back at Being and Time as both an introduction and a guide. My intention is to show how a careful (re)consideration of the earlier concepts truth, world, and disclosure can help us to better understand, as a modification of earlier ideas, the development of a concept central to his later philosophy: namely, the concept of 'artwork' as 'truth establishing itself' or 'setting-up' a world. It is not my intention to provide a close reading of the later text "The Origin of the Work of Art", but to foreshadow the development of it by considering directly related content from Being and Time.
