Abstract
The variation found in handprinted symbols makes it difficult to use
template matching methods. One approach is to use an adaptable template,
one that can be scaled and rotated easily. Here we explore the use of
vector templates, and apply the solution to handprinted digits,
map symbols, and music notation.
