Abstract
Archivists and archives administrators are facing many challenges in realizing the vision that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission has set before us. Gaps in the record, short time lines and limited resources require creative solutions from archivists so that the expectations of Survivors, researchers and the media are met. The 2006 "Protocols for Native American Archival Materials have named "consultation" as a key value. This paper will examine the extent to which as process gro9unded in the Protocols could help archivists meet opportunities the TRC sets before us.
