Abstract
Although a key feature of energy and natural resources development in Alberta, public participation faces many challenges. In April 2010, the Canadian Institute of Resources Law convened a Round Table of experts to discuss public participation issues in this context. This article outlines the main themes that emerged from that Round Table discussion. In doing so, it sheds light on the key issues and challenges facing public participation in energy and natural resources development in the province.
