Abstract
The article presents a case study of Canadian gas company Niko Resources Ltd., which allegedly bribed Energy Minister Mosharraf Hossain of Bangladesh. Hossain was expected to decide on the reparations for Niko, following the accidental explosion caused by its operation of drilling for gas in Bangladesh in January 2005. Niko pleaded guilty in a courtroom in Calgary, Alberta to violating section the "Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act" on June 23, 2011, six years after the bribe happened.
