Abstract
Health harming masculine gender practices are a root cause of many interpersonal and personal transgressions that create harm and can lead to overt forms of gender-based violence. There is a critical need for creative approaches that combat various types of harmful behaviour linked to masculinities and male norms. Through a research process involving auto ethnography and devised theatre practice, this thesis articulates how specific theatre tools might be applied to engage people in procedures that hold potential to shift these harmful norms and prevent violence.
