The main purpose of this research is to make an evaluation about the potentiality of Latin American and Caribbean countries to obtain an energy consumption degrease during the 2004 – 2020 period, after the implementation of some energy efficiency measures in the electricity sector of the counties. Potentiality will be evaluated in terms of energy savings, displaced power capacity and net present value of the benefits of such measures. All the current information available in the countries will be collected and used for making forecasting of some energy variables for the considered period of time, in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the selected energy efficiency measures in the future. In addition, decreasing energy consumption also means decreasing green-house-gas (GHG) emissions that are contributing to global warming and climate change problems. Such avoided emissions will also be evaluated for the considered period of time.
