The purpose of this study was to develop predictive statistical models on the basis of lab radioactivity concentrations and field radioactivity measurements, physical as well as chemical properties of the NORM-contaminated soil matrices; thereby, leading to improved NORM management practices and potentially minimized adverse impact on the environment. This study determined that a comprehensive field investigation could predict, with reasonable accuracy, the activity concentration of the area; therefore, reduce time and analytical costs. The management of NOR M is still in its infancy in Canada; however, significant progress has been made towards establishing a meaningful framework for NORM management and regulation.en
