It is shown that the model is accurate and can be used to estimate the random FM caused by the deep fading, from the envelope alone of the received signal. Since the model is parametric, effective estimation algorithms have been developed extracting the model's parameters from the signal. Based on these algorithms, it is also shown that it is possible to establish a statistical fading simulation model for a frequency-flat fading channel by extracting the statistical distributions of the model's parameters from the channel measurements.xii, 89 leaves ; 30 cm.engUniversity of Calgary graduate students retain copyright ownership and moral rights for their thesis.
