Its primary objective is to better situate my Thesis Performance, collate | the collective inside, within the larger framework of an iterative creative research practice. Through the practices of installation and performance art, I have sought to investigate, identify, and present alternative ways in which to perceive and inhabit our shared and overlapping lifeworlds; other ways to inhabit the world | other ways of being with re-presents the projects I have undertaken with this objective in mind over the past two years. I contextualize my position within contemporary art by briefly touching on artists whose artwork and/or practices operate with similar aims to my own. At the end of the document, I provide an appendix of personally relevant, redefined terms, which relate to concepts and themes that have impelled and shaped much of my research and cultural production to date.engUniversity of Calgary graduate students retain copyright ownership and moral rights for their thesis.
