Frequency domain analysis as normally applied for sinusoidal voltage modulation using the Fourier series representation of the waveforms is inapplicable for the analysis of current hysteresis modulation, because the waveforms are aperiodic. Since the switching instants of the current hysteresis modulated inverter can only be determined from a time domain analysis, a time domain technique using the system eigenvalues is applied for the analysis of both PWM strategies.
