The phase information is motion related and causes some problems in angiography (i.e. vascular imaging). One of the problems is referred to as intravoxel dephasing. We implemented a new half-echo imaging method. This is based on the acquisition of two half-echoes in order to sample each side of the echo using an alternating polarity readout gradient. The corresponding signal processing methods and the ability of this half-echo imaging method to reduce intravoxel dephasing are investigated in this thesis.viii, 223 leaves ; 30 cm.engUniversity of Calgary graduate students retain copyright ownership and moral rights for their thesis.
