The objectives of this study were to determine the prevalence of gambling and problem gambling, to describe the characteristics of individuals experiencing gambling-related problems, and to compare trends with the 2001 Ontario gambling prevalence study (Wiebe, Single, & Falkowski-Ham, 2001) with regards to levels of gambling and problem gambling. A telephone survey was conducted with a sample of 3,604 adults 18 years and older from Ontario. Levels of gambling and problem gambling were assessed through the Canadian Problem Gambling Index (CPGI) (Ferris & Wynne, 2001).
