The amendments are based on results of the mediation between the Partnership and the rural municipalities of Rocky View County and the M.D. of Foothills.

June 21, 2012 saw a significant achievement for the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP): the approval of the Calgary Metropolitan Plan. The 14 Executive members that represent the CRP’s member municipalities voted unanimously to approve the revised Plan, which has been sent to the Government of Alberta for review and eventual legislation.

Calgary Metropolitan Plan Website Wins Award

The Calgary Metropolitan Plan website recently won the Interactive Media’ Award’s “Best in Class” under the Government category. There were 137 entries in that category from around the world. This is a tremendous accomplishment for the Calgary Regional Partnership, as this award recognized the hard work required to develop a website based on the Calgary Metropolitan Plan.

The attendance was part of a regional marketing effort to attract businesses and organizations related to global supply chain and transportation & logistics to the Calgary Region.

Calgary Region Represented at Canadian Transit Conference

The Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) held a Fall Conference and Trans-Expo in Calgary from November 23-27, 2013 with the theme on customer service. Trans-Expo 2013 showcased 22 buses with over 120 exhibit booths. Mayor Naheed Nenshi officially opened the conference and was presented with an award from CUTA recognizing his efforts during this past summer’s damaging floods.
