    CHARACTER RECOGNITION USING THE HOUGH TRANSFORM

    This paper describes the automatic identification of hand-printed, block Roman characters. The technique used was to apply a Hough transform to the characters and then to perform feature matching in the transform space. A recognition rate of 76% was achieved in these experiments.
