LamarThis report presents the results of a replication survey of adolescent gambling and problem gambling in Washington State. The main purpose of this study was to examine changes in gambling participation and the prevalence of gambling-related problems among adolescents in Washington State between 1993 and 1999. Another purpose of this study was to identify the types of gambling causing the greatest difficulties for the youth of Washington State. A sample of Washington State residents aged 13 to 17 (N=1,000) were interviewed in January and February, 1999, about the types of gambling they have tried, the amounts of money they spend on gambling and about gambling-related difficulties. The results of this study are intended to assist in refining the services available to youth with gambling problems as well as their families in Washington State.Item Open Access Gambling and problem gambling in Louisiana : a replication study, 1995 to 1998(1999-03-15) Volberg, Rachel A.; Moore, W. LamarThe main purpose of this report is to examine changes in the prevalence of gambling-related problems among the adult population in Louisiana between 1995 and 1998. An additional purpose of this report is to identify the types of gambling causing the greatest difficulties for the citizens of Louisiana. The results of this study will be useful in documenting the impact of legal gambling on the citizens of the State of Louisiana and in refining the services available to individuals in Louisiana with gambling-related difficulties.Item Open Access Gambling and problem gambling in Washington State : a replication study, 1992 to 1998, report to the Washington State Lottery(1999-05-11) Volberg, Rachel A.; Moore, W. LamarThis report presents the findings of a state-wide survey of gambling participation and gambling-related problems in Washington State. This study is a replication of a baseline study that was carried out by the same research team in 1992. A random sample of 1,501 Washington State residents aged 18 and over was interviewed in October and November of 1998 about the types of gambling in which they had ever participated, the amounts of money they spend on gambling, and about problems related to their gambling.
