Abstract
This is a design option for a "living machine" to serve as a multi-family dwelling where natural systems coexist with the inhabitants and also provide subsistence services. This project intends to contribute to a sustainable paradigm required for an anticipated post-petroleum and post-suburb society. Among other practices it will embody still-emergent technologies of onsite power generation, urban agriculture, water resources management and waste management combined with live/work lifestyles and their vital interface with the urban context.
