Abstract
First Nations in Canada have begun to seriously
explore gaming. Early indications suggest that
the growth of gaming in Canada may parallel that
in U.S. The responsible development of gaming
opportunities, however, requires an understanding
of the legal and regulatory differences
between the U.S. and Canada. In addition, there
are further legal, business and planning realities
peculiar to gaming operations on aboriginal lands
that tribal entrepreneurs, investors and advisors
in this area should be aware of. A comprehensive 2 day program has been prepared to provide practical and timely information in this area.
