In magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the signals received by the scanner contain not only the magnitude but also the phase information of the magnetization of the proton spins. The phase information is motion related and causes some problems in angiography (i.e. vascular imaging). One of the problems is referred to as intravoxel dephasing. We implemented a new half-echo imaging method. This is based on the acquisition of two half-echoes in order to sample each side of the echo using an alternating polarity readout gradient. The corresponding signal processing methods and the ability of this half-echo imaging method to reduce intravoxel dephasing are investigated in this thesis.
