Nurses are committed to providing safe patient and family-centered care (PFCC) in part through nurses’ contributions to multidisciplinary, patient, and family-centered bedside rounds. The purpose of this study was to develop a questionnaire to measure nurses’ intent to practice PFCC during bedside rounds. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior the questionnaire aimed to capture nurses’ attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control as predictors of nurses’ intentions. This is part of a larger study that will measure the effect of professional development workshops for healthcare professionals (HCPs) including nurses, physicians and allied health professionals on the family experience of PFCC during bedside rounds, and attitudes and practices of HCPs regarding bedside rounds. Feedback from 20 nurses was used to make revisions to the questionnaire, which will be used as the primary nursing outcome measure in the larger study.en_US
