dc.description.abstract | This work, based mostly on field studies, puts forth a "naturalistic" towards understanding and explaining why people gamble, within the context of where the gambling action actually takes place, as opposed to studying gambling in a laboratory or controlled setting. The focus is on both conventional and deviant gambling and gamblers rather than consider the gambling "experience" as generally applicable to any given gambler. | en |
