dc.description.abstract | This paper presents empirical data on the performance of Jade's inter-process communication facility (Jipc) and compares this with the performance of the Unix TCP protocol. Its primary use is in the evaluation of Jipc performance compared with another protocol residing on the same implementation environment. This paper is of interest because it presents the user with data that compares the two distinct systems' performance with respect to each other, both when they are within their respective design criteria and when those inherent design limits have been purposefully transgressed. | eng |
