In this thesis we investigate some applications of Set theory to Algebra and Ho-mological Algebra. We give a complete solution to Whitehead's problem based on Eklofs exposition of Shelah's result. We also list other results which make explicit use of set theoretic constructions, like Kaplansky's theorem and Osofky's theorem.en
