dc.description.abstract | Seismic data interpolation, which spatially transforms irregularly sampled acquired data to regularly sampled data or to any desired grid in general, is an important problem in seismic data processing. We have developed the Arbitrarily Sampled Fourier Transform (ASFT) method for seismic data interpolation, which incorporates several enhancements comparing to existing algorithms used in the industry, such as Projection Onto a Convex Set and Minimum Weighted Norm Interpolation. First, true positions of the input data are used for computation; second, the spatial frequency content is allowed to be at an arbitrary point in the k4 domain. Real data examples from Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) show that ASFT produces excellent interpolation results. | en_US |
