dc.description.abstractThis thesis deals with the analysis of box girder skew bridges. It is explained that a valid analysis of a short and wide skew bridge may be obtained when the structure is idealized as an assemblage of large plate and beam elements. For the bridge analysis, the stiffness properties of the large elements are needed and are derived in the thesis by finite differences.en
