dc.description.abstract | The following thesis analyzes Internal Corporate Venturing (!CV) in Family Firms from a Strategic Management Process (SMP) framework. The goal variable from this framework is isolated and analyzed based on a qualitative study of family firms that have proceeded with corporate venturing. Findings from the SMP framework literature analysis suggest a number of areas where the unique characteristics of family firms might influence the adoption of ICV Potential research questions surrounding these areas are presented. The empirical analysis, based on semi-structured interviews of 6 firms and covering 24 ventures, leads to the development of 12 testable propositions surrounding the goals variable in the SMP framework. Limitations of the current research and future directions are discussed. | en |
