Contemporary political risk analysis and management: civil society and sustainable development

AbstractWith the growth in power and relevance of non-governmental organisations, a contemporary political risk (CPR) has emerged for firms in the extractive industries. Using the results of a cross case study review and insights from various literatures, this paper seeks to identify the nature of CPR, develop an analytical framework for CPR assessment and identify and evaluate implicated CPR management strategies.
