Abstract
Dr. R. Michael Fisher applies an autoethnographic method of reflections and study of the literature on "transformation" as a process and as a consciousness and social movement "The Transformation." He traces from the 1950s, but focuses on his own experiences in the 1970s in this video, and will continue this trajectory into the 1980s up to this day. A real expose' of someone who has been there and done that... he shares intimately and intellectually the journey of transformation he knows so well. He believes that this concept of "transformation" may very well be one of the most important concepts to human beings, especially as we face the cascading crises that face our global and individual future in the next decade. The next video in the series will start with a reading from "The Transformation" (1972) book by George Leonard, and how it is a core text to understanding what was happening in a lot of the world, especially in the West, and especially out of California--a leading edge of consciousness evolution in the West. This impacted Fisher in a major transformative way.
