Item Open Access A New 'Fear' Studies Vocabulary(Center for Spiritual Inquiry & Integral Education, 2011) Fisher, R. M.Item Open Access A Research Agenda to Legitimate the Study of 'Fear': Beginning Fearology 2000-2011(Center for Spiritual Inquiry & Integral Education, 2011) Fisher, R. M.I recently came across the new book published on Integral Ecology and after reading a few chapters it struck me that if these authors of this new field can call their work Integral Ecology = the "ecology of ecologies" --and they mean over 200 ecologies...--then I can call my work Integral Fearology = the "fearology of fearologies"....Item Open Access An Integral Fearlessness Paradigm(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2006) Fisher, R. M.This paper summarizes some fundamentals for any holistic (integral) critical inquiry into the nature and role of fear ('fear') in our world, utilizing a fearlessness paradigm (perspective, theory, inquiry, integral philosophy and practice). A guiding premise for this entire venture is: Fearlessness is essential to a healthy quality and 'complete' knowledge for understanding fear ('fear')....Item Open Access An Introduction to an Epistemology of 'Fear': A Fearlessness Paradigm(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2012) Fisher, R. M.The temptation to think we know what 'fear' is all about, is one of the key factors that gets in the way of truly understanding ways of knowing 'fear' (and fear) as a very large and complex topic. This paper will introduce some of the various ways of knowing 'fear' as a holistic phenomenon and not merely a "feeling or emotion" (as fear, usually defined).Item Open Access Conceptualizing a Fearlessness Philosophy: Existential Philosophy and a Genealogy of Fear Management System 5(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2007) Fisher, R. M.The two main purposes of this paper are: (1) to document the history of my own philosophical thinking about fear ('fear') and fearlessness in regards to existential philosophy.... (2) to lay the groundwork for a genealogy of Fear Management System-5 (and its later re-emergence in FMS-6b).Item Open Access The 'Fear' Matrix Revisited(2019-06-12) Fisher, Robert MichaelOf the hundreds of new terms created over 30 years of my research, there is probably no more important term amongst them than ‘Fear’ Matrix. It represents the crux conceptual center upon which all my study of fear, fearlessness, love, etc. revolves. In particular, I have tried fervently to get educators, professional and otherwise, including leaders of all kinds, to take this concept seriously—as, in my view it is foundational to any real progressive reform or transformation of our societies. Indeed, it may be the pivotal concept to ‘save the planet.’ The author re-looks at what has happened in terms of others in the world utilizing this concept, in particular his own version of it. The results of this recent survey show the ‘uptake’ is less than inspiring and more like human beings are resistant to accept such a concept and reality of the ‘Fear’ Matrix. The author recommends how this situation can be improved.Item Open Access Fear' Studies: A Conceptual Proposal(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2001) Fisher, R. M.This preliminary document offers the conceptual framework, rationale, key definitions, and areas of interest which serve to support 'Fear' Studies as a new theme for post-secondary education...Item Open Access Fear' Without Feelings (FWF): Latest Discoveries and Speculations on the Cure for 'Fear'(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2013) Fisher, R. M.Why wouldn't consciousness, ever-evolving, keep trying to create a better cure for 'fear' within its own System? Whatever 'fear' is--and that's where a big part of this technical paper will begin with--my latest discovery of 'Fear' Without Feelings (or FWF), which is a spin-off from the critical postmodern aesthetic-organic French philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, is hard-earned and not going away....Item Open Access Ideological Underpinnings of Colonial Domination in Understanding Fear Itself(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2016) Fisher, R. M.It is justifiable to assume that Western (W.) science is "neutral" in ideology, merely in th pursuit of application of reason and logic to create knowledge, then we can rest comfortably in our pre-given unquestioned dominant conceptualizations of "fear," most commonly accepted today, as a feeling or emotion--known empirically and measured in units that science (and psychology) remains typically self-assured. After all, living under the 'spell' of W. science's domination of reality and ways of knowing, supposed "objectivity" and apparently rational, free from bias by fear and prejudice and value-free agenda, there is the aim to be certain of what is is so it can be managed and controlled....This technical paper, using a performative dialogical ("play") writing and teaching construction, takes several different strategies to show that any naive acceptance of W. science's certainty and assumed definition of fear is partial and distorted, if not dangerous....Item Open Access Introduction to Defining 'Fear': A Spectrum Approach(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2012) Fisher, R. M.Defining 'fear' (is, or) could be one of the most important research agendas of the human sciences in the next century, because of its key role in oppression and liberation. This introductory paper is the beginning of a systematic search for one or more definitions of 'fear' that will be useful in a more complete understanding of the 'fear' phenomenon....Item Open Access On Being a 'Fear' Critic(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2002) Fisher, R. M.Item Open Access Item Open Access Thanatos & Phobos: 'Fear' and its Role in Ken Wilber's Transpersonal Theory(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2012) Fisher, R. M.Wilber's transpersonal conceptualization of Thanatos and Phobos are interpreted as two patterns of 'fear' in development and evolution. It is suggested by Wilber's model and this author, that these 'fear' forces may be the source of the processes of pathology that undermine and derail evolutionary progress.Item Open Access The Significance of Fear(In Search of Fearlessness Research Institute, 2004) Fisher, R. M.
